This panel discusses the recent developments in French Caribbean poetry, fiction, and nonfiction, showing how literature continues to intersect with other political and artistic movements within the broader Afro-Atlantic context, forging new visions for the future by reconfiguring narratives of the past.
Miguel Duplan (Martinique/French Guiana) and Françoise James Ousénie (French Guiana) will combine brief readings from their works and discuss the niche Caribbean writers occupy within the francophone world.
Moderated by Jean-Jacques Garnier from the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States.
