Make Music Miami 2018 [fr]

Since 1982, the Fête de la Musique has been celebrated in France every summer solstice. In every French city you can find free concerts in the streets, bars and restaurants. Today, it is a global music festival, taking place in more than 800 cities in 120 countries.

In partnership with the France Florida Foundation for the Arts and Rhythm Foundation, the Cultural services of the French Embassy in Miami are organizing, once again, this year’s “Fête de la Musique” (Make Music Miami) edition on June 21st, 2018.

This free festival, celebrating the longest day of the year and welcoming summer in music, will showcase all styles of musical performances, from traditional and classical to world music, choral and jazz, electronic and new trends, and will take place throughout several locations in the city.

Music will flow through the streets of Miami for the reminder of the longest day of the year as Make Music Miami celebrates the summer solstice. Lincoln Road will feature over 30 performers outdoors: Montreal-born, local sensation DJ leSpam will offer a specially curated live DJ set for the morning commute. Mass Appeals will gather large groups to perform with a single instrument such as a bazooka, drums or a ukulele; and if that’s not fun enough, an Abba-centric mobile karaoke station will be traveling throughout Downtown Miami and Wynwood. From 6pm to 10pm, French DJ and electronic musician Worakls will perform at the North Beach Bandshell, with opening sets by Apache and by Inez Barlatier. The concert will be the crowning event of this day long music fest.
