In Remembrance: The Fauré & Duruflé Requiems [fr]

In Remembrance: The Fauré & Duruflé Requiems
When: Fri, Nov 11, 7:30pm
Where: in Coral Gables and Fort Lauderdale

The two time grammy nominee ensemble, Seraphic Fire, will hold two concerts in Florida this month with acclaimed organist Nathan Laube, performing a program of remembrance featuring the requiem masses of Gabriel Fauré and Maurice Duruflé, and the world premiere work, The Fate of His Ashes: A Requiem for Victims of Power, by Douglas Cuomo.
From the delicate melody of Pie Jesu in Fauré’s Requiem to the unmistakable Gregorian chant in Duruflé’s Agnus Dei, this music reflects on the transcendental beauty of life.

Led by Founder and Artistic Director Patrick Dupré Quigley, Seraphic Fire brings top ensemble singers and instrumentalists from around the country to perform repertoire ranging from Gregorian chant and Baroque masterpieces, to Mahler and newly commissioned works by this country’s leading composers.

This concert is made possible through a generous gift by Dr. Thomas C. Boyd in memory of Stanley Ferch, and his parents, Thomas and Jean Boyd.
