"The Color of Summer" by Thomas Henriot [fr]
Celine Moine and Lelia Mordoch present "The Color of Summer in Miami ", Thomas Henriot’s first solo show in Miami.
Thomas Henriot is a French artist born in 1980. He studied in Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Besançon and lives and works between New York, Rio de Janeiro, Havana, Vanarasi. The artist works in public with his rolls of paper flat on the ground. The physical presence of his body at work remains forever recorded in these lightweight, nomadic and easy-to-transport artworks as he creates his drawings on rolls of Japan paper up to 25 meters long.
The travelling exhibition The Colour of summer brings together Thomas Henriot’s experience of his numerous journeys across the world. Miami is an essential stage in the artist’s approach through his connection with Reinaldo Arenas (1943–1990), a Cuban-born poet, novelist and essayist, persecuted by the Castro regime.
