The French Foreign ministry joined the social network in 2009 in order to open a large window on its work, to promote French positions on international issues, and to strengthen exchanges with members of civil society.
Many diplomats, such as Mr. Gerard Araud, Ambassador of France to the United States, are also on the well-known social media platform.

Following the ministry’s example, on its portal as well as on its social networks, this consulate communicates to

- highlight local events focusing on French businesses, entrepreneurs, artists and the francophone community,
- bring together the different local communities,
- emphasize French know-how and expertise,
- inform about the challenges of our societies,
- and to interact directly with the public.
