In Florida, local events marked the D-Day [fr]

Ceremonies in Tallahassee, Tampa, Naples and Miami took place on this date in order to thank those who, 70 years ago, had the courage to land on the Normandy beaches.

- In Tallahassee, on June 6, 2014 an exhibition and a ceremony took place at the WWII Memorial.

- In Miami, commemoration at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral with the presence of French, Canadian, American and British representatives, (picture)

- In the city of Naples, an important ceremony was held at the Naples Depot Museum on June 7, 2014.



- Tampa also marked the D Day’s 70th anniversary at the Museum of Science and Industry.

-  The French Alliance in Bonita Springs gathered members and friends on the occasion of the 70th anniversary.

- Ceremonies awarding the medal of Knight in the Order of the Legion of Honor to former U.S. soldiers from the Second World War
