In Tallahassee, an exhibit and a ceremony at the World War II Memorial on June 6th [fr]


Commemorating the 70th anniversary of the D-Day, Leon County dedicates its annual event “Operation Thank You” to the World War II veterans.

In Tallahassee, “Operation Thank You 2014 – In Honor of World War II Veterans and Remembrance of D-Day” will honor World War II Veterans who liberated occupied France in 1944 .

In addition to the official ceremony, an exhibit displaying several objects collected from the Veterans and their families and tracing the history of World War II will be presented.

The ceremony will be held on Friday, June 6th 2014 starting from 9am at the World War II Memorial located in front of the Leon County Courthouse (301 South Monroe), near the corner of South Monroe Street and Pensacola Street.
