French and American dignitaries mark the 70th anniversary of D-day in Naples [fr]

The friends of the Collier County Museum in collaboration with the city of Naples and the county of Collier have organized a ceremony at the Naples Depot Museum on June 7, 2014 where 30 American WWII veterans are invited.

Brigitte van den Hove-Smith, President, has worked with the Airport Military Memorabilia Museum of Naples to provide an exposition of many objects and military vehicles dating from the conflict.

Will be present at the celebration:

- the Consul General of France, Philippe Létrilliart,
- the Mayor of Naples, Mr. John F. Sorey III,
- Mrs. Donna Fiala, Collier County Commissioner,
- Mr. Peter Thomas, commentator and author of historical programs,
- Major General John T. Coyne, U.S. Marine Corps,
- Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) will also be part of this event

30 U.S. veterans, who fought in France during World War II, will participate in the celebration.


See you then Saturday, May 7, 2014 at 10am at the Naples Depot Museum, 1051 5th Ave S to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the landing of Allied troops in France.
A reception will follow the ceremony.
