Florida-France Festival (FLA-FRA) is open to all [fr]

The FLA – FRA (Florida-France) Festival is a new project celebrating Floridian and French art in a contemporary and innovative way. A wide range of concerts, dances, films, pop-up performances and other events will be taking place every day from the 1st to the 30th of April.

Cabaret singer Floanne will be performing on 11th of April, and jazz star Cécile McLorin Salvant will be putting on a show on April 12th while dancers Cédric Andrieux and Myriam Gourfink will perform their contemporary creations on April 25th and 26th.

The Nouvelle Vague Classics: consisting of four classic François Truffaut films, it will be screened on Miami Beach and feature the first edition of “Films on the Beach”.

Throughout the month, five-minute “Culture Clicks” will gather Floridian artists doing things “à la française” in Miami’s streets such a guest appearance by Napoleon, a five-minute dance set to an Erick Satie piece and a transformation of the Miami River 5th Street Bridge into one of Paris’s notorious bridges adorned with love locks.
Miamians might also encounter someone playing the accordion and singing French songs outside a downtown bar. These Culture Clicks will certainly be entertaining and they will all be free.

Visit the FLA-FRA website and stay tuned as more details are revealed.

The FLA - FRA Festival received the support of The Cultural Services of the French Embassy, FACE (French American Cultural Exchange), and TV5 Monde.
