All Florida students (Elementary to High School level) are invited to express themselves and celebrate la Francophonie with the 2nd Edition of the local "Dis-moi dix mots" contest.
As part of the French Language and Francophonie week organized every year, the French Cultural Department, in partnership with the Consulate General of the Republic of Haiti and the Consulate General of Canada in Miami, organizes a local version of the « Dis-moi dix mots... à la folie» contest for all students, both francophone and learning French as a foreign language, in schools all over Florida.
Some of the projects proposed by the contest include party posters, short stories, illustrated dictionaries, and comic strips, allowing students to not only express themselves on an artistic level but to also learn the richness and evolution of the French language through the original and whimsical ten words chosen for this year’s edition:
Ambiancer, à tire-larigot, charivari, s’enlivrer*, faribole,
hurluberlu, ouf, timbré, tohu-bohu, zigzag.
Projects are specifically tailored for the French level of the students and their age, both in difficulty and in theme, encouraging them to challenge themselves with the language but to also have fun, be creative, use their imagination!
The unique deadline for this local contest is set to March 20th, 2014. Prizes are awaiting contestants!. If you would like to participate with your students, please send an email at email@example.com to receive contest rules and additional details.
