The « Fête de la musique » was in full swing in Miami!

This year yet again, the “Fête de la Musique” was in full swing on the streets of Miami, Little Haiti, Coconut Grove and Coral Gables, which vibrated with the sounds of the musicians who came to celebrate this notable festival that marks the beginning of summer. Retrospective.
  • The organization The Rhythm Foundation in partnership with the the Consulate General of France in Miami organized the event "Make Music Miami" at the Little Haiti Cultural Center the evening of June 21st during a very special Big Night in Little Haiti.

The many visitors who attended enjoyed art exhibitions in the galleries open for the occasion as well as traditional Haitian dishes and French crepes Suzette.

Talented artists from all musical backgrounds came together to thrill the audience in the first part of the evening. They then gave way to the star of the "new scene" of Caribbean music, Parisian and Guadeloupean singer-songwriter Stevy Mahy.

The music flowed through the streets of Little Haiti as well as in restaurants like The Embassy which hosted a free concert featuring Tira Tinsley.

Haitians, Americans and French came together to celebrate together a warm and cultural festival !

  • On the evening of June 21, the “Fête de la Musique”organized by the Miami Conservatory of Music also delighted residents of Coconut Grove.
    Twnety-four groups of musicians played in the streets and restaurants in the area for the enjoyment of the spectators.

The stage of The Barnacle welcomed more than 500 people who came to listen to the group "Cuban Pete Rock and Roll."

All types of music were perfomed, from jazz (including violinist Federico Britos who was awarded a Grammy) to bossa nova, rock, folk, classical music by the orchestra’s percussion, to electric and acustic guitar.

  • The French division of Dante Alighieri Miami also celebrated “Fête de la Musique” on June 18 in the city of Coral Gables. The greatest recognized songs by French composers were presented to the public who had been invited to savor gourmet French dishes.
