Gilles Bourdos’ film “Renoir” at Miami Dade College Tower Theater

Samuel Goldwin Films presents “Renoir”, an atmospheric drama by Gilles Bourdos, about the celebrated French Impressionist painter. Born in 1841, Pierre-Auguste Renoir is one of France’s most famous artists. Pastel artist, engraver, lithographer, sculptor, and drawer, he painted nudes, portraits, landscapes, and still lives.
It will be on screen May 24th at the Miami Dade College Tower Theater.

Bourdos’ film tells the story of Auguste Renoir (Michel Bouquet) at declining health at age 74 and his middle son, Jean (Vincent Rottiers), who returns home to convalesce after being wounded in World War I. Both are enchanted and inspired by Andrée (Christa Theret), a radiantly beautiful young woman who rejuvenates them. The Renoirs’ beautiful home in the majestic country side is revitalized by the young muse as father and son are filled with a new, wholly unexpected energy.

Don’t miss a “beautiful, and so intelligently conceived” (The Wall Street Journal) film about the life of a fascinating artist.
