Club Med looking for new talent

Simone Eyer, a member of the Club Med Department of Human Resources based in Blue Lagoon, explains her missions and talks about the open positions she is looking to fill as well as the Club Med brand, a pioneer of "All inclusive" concerning more than 80 resorts in the world. The "All inclusive" concept addressing the whole family is still unique in the United States thanks to the Club Med destination in Sandpiper, Florida which is so close to us. Interview.

- e-Toile: Hello Mrs. Eyer, you are a member of the Human Resources Department for the Club Med located on Blue Lagoon. What is your department’s mission and what type of jobs are you currently recruiting for?

Simone Eyer: I am currently responsible for recruitment for our Villages in North America: Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, Columbus Isle in the Bahamas, Turkoise in the Turks and Caicos, Sandpiper Bay in Florida, and Cancun and Ixtapa in Mexico.

One of my main missions is to detect new talent and sources of talent and recruit multicultural talents for our teams in our villages.

We are one of the most attractive recruiters in the world in the tourism industry because we offer an active and fun environment that focuses on the professional and personal development of our GOs (Genteel Organizers).

We encourage our GOs to develop personally and professional while offering them the opportunity to travel around world and to all the continents.

- e-Toile: Club Med has always had a very strong identity. What is their position in today’s market where tourism internet portals that provide offers with "transport, hotels, services included" thrive and where guests choose destinations at the last minute?

Simone Eyer: Today Club Med is the only true global brand for all inclusive vacations with nearly 80 resorts around the world.

We invented the "all-inclusive" concept more than 50 years ago and remain unique and a pioneer in the market of upscale family vacations (with our framework geared towards infant development) and in the market offering options for families and couples who are active and love sports ( thanks to the range of sports and activities we offer in our Villages).

In regards to this last point, we worked on a new concept for our Village in Florida, beyond the benefits of "all-inclusive" we restructured our Village in Sandpiper Bay around sports, nutrition and regeneration as an answer to the equally growing demand for "Active Vacations."

Concerning "last minute bookers" in North America, we are lucky enough to have a loyal clientèle who book reservations at an earlier time than the average (in particular, thanks to our «Early Booking Rate» which guarantees the best prices of the season) but we also have a distribution strategy reaching 60% of direct distributions (call center, Internet), a strategy that allows us to be reactive and able to provide last minute offers to respond to such requests.

- e-Toile: Club Med has been present for more than 15 years in Miami. Why did you choose this site specifically to manage the Villages in the North American continent as well as those in the Caribbean?

Simone Eyer: Miami presents an ideal platform for Club Med given that we can easily access our villages in the Caribbean. The majority of flights are direct and at reasonable prices.

In addition, Miami is only a 2.5 hour drive from our Village of Sandpiper in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Sandpiper, moreover, is the only Village that offers an all-inclusive family vacation Florida. No other tour operator offers an all-inclusive family destination in Florida.

We also have important accessibility to our office in Montreal, Canada.
