29th edition of the MIAMI INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, March 2 – March 11, 2012

JPEG The Miami Dade College presents the 29th edition of the Miami International Film Festival with 100 films from 35 countries from March 2 to 11.
Director Jaie laplante introduces several new categories: 4 World Directors to Watch, Spotlight Quebec Cinema; America the Beautiful, Films for Youth, Cuba, Mayhem, Miami Mavericks… The festival will also include the Knight Documentary Competition, Knight Ibero-American Competition, Cinema 360 & Doc You Up, Florida Focus, From the Vault and Cinemaslam, Reel Music and Cutting Edge.
In addition to the 8 French Coproductions and Francophone films, this year’s edition will feature two French films: “Free Men”, by Ismäel Ferroukhi, and “Catharsis “ which will be presented in the presence of French director, Cédric Prévost, with the support of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy.
