22 WWII veterans received the Legion of Honor during Memorial Day weekend

JPEGOn Sunday May 27th, 2011, Gaël de Maisonneuve, Consul General of France in Miami, awarded the Legion of Honor on 22 WWII veterans.

The ceremony took place in Boynton Beach, FL on the occasion of Memorial Day weekend, an American landmark honoring Americans who have died in War.

First observed for soldiers who died during the Civil War, the holiday has now extended to remembering all men and women who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces, France joined to salute those who helped during WWII.
